Youth congratulated by Premier Ewart Brown

Premier Brown today met at the Cabinet Office with the seven Berkeley Institute students who successfully passed their Math GCSE exam two years before most students traditionally sit that exam. Accompanied by Principal Michelle Simmons the students met with the Premier for about 20 minutes and each received a gift at the conclusion of the meeting.

BELCO warns selected blackouts coming to fix Igor damage

IGOR’s damage to the island’s electricity system means that BELCO will have to cut power during the day so that crews can work. But only selected areas will be singled out for blackouts, the company has clarified. The work, to the electricity distribution system, will last through October. Temporary repairs to the grid were made in the wake of Hurricane Igor — now they must be fixed properly.
