American pastor cancels Koran burning plan

THE American small-town pastor in Gainsville, Florida has called off his church’s plans to set fire to the holy Koran, the BBC in London, reports.

Pentecostal Pastor Terry Jones told the media he made the decision after the owners of that controversial Ground Zero Mosque in New York, allegedly agreed to build it elsewhere.

Mr. Jones’ plans drew intense outrage from President Barack Obama and leaders from across the globe.

The pastor’s plans drew widespread interest here in Bermuda.
