Armed robbery of bus driver in Sandys Parish

SOMERSET Police are searching for the two hooligans responsible for robbing a mini-bus driver of his cash.

The victim, 56, was outside the Maximart supermarket on Middle Road in Sandys Parish at around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday.

As he was about to enter his vehicle, the men showed up waiving machetes. One took his pouch which contained loose change before running away.

The victim received minor injuries and had to be taken to the King Edward VII Hospital.

The suspects are described as two light-skinned men of slim build, around 5-feet 8-inches tall and probably in their 20s.

One of them had a close haircut and wore an orange shirt while the other had on a white T-shirt and had no facial hair.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
