Hurricane Richard Could Become A Reality This Weekend

CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Fri. Oct. 22, 2010: Tropical Storm Richard could become Hurricane Richard this week, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami last night warned.

The storm was last night 230 miles south, south east of Grand Cayman with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph with higher gusts expected in the next 48 hours.

The storm is expected to bring large rainfall in this area, with accumulations of 4 to 8 inches expected over Jamaica and 12 inches in areas of higher terrain that could trigger life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.

Countries like Jamaica, Cayman and Honduras are being warned to keep a close eye on Richard.
