Senior involved in smash-up at Blackwatch Pass

Around 3:40pm on Sunday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke involving a car and a van.

It appears that the van was traveling along Blackwatch Pass and the car was traveling along North Shore Road when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the car, a 59 year old Sandys parish man, was injured.

The driver of the van, a 66 year old Warwick man, was apparently uninjured; however his passenger, a 59 year old Sandys parish woman was injured.

The injured parties were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Seymour Foote on 295-0011.
