Bermuda’s Pink Palace to Host Event to Benefit The Bermuda National Trust

On November 27, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess will celebrate its 125th anniversary by hosting a black-tie celebration event with a cocktail reception, dinner, entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets are $125 per person and proceeds from the evening will benefit The Bermuda National Trust.

“We’re looking forward to a fun evening that will recognise the hotel’s significance in Bermuda and benefit a very worthwhile organisation that is dedicated to preserving Bermuda’s history through its land and buildings. We hope many people in the community will celebrate with us.”

The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 7pm where guests can take part in a silent auction.

The items up for bid include guest accommodations at Fairmont properties both on-and-off-island including The Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston and The Fairmont Turnberry Isle, artwork from the Windjammer II gallery by artist Sheilagh Head, historic items from The Bermuda National Trust, retail items and fantastic dining opportunities around the island.

Dinner and dancing to the Tom Ray Band will follow starting at 8pm. The silent auction will round out the evening.

“The Bermuda National Trust is delighted to partner with The Fairmont Hamilton Princess for such a milestone,” said Jennifer Gray, Executive Director of The Bermuda National Trust.

“This is a wonderful occasion for each of us to reflect on and celebrate our achievements.

“The Trust is grateful to The Fairmont Hamilton Princess for recognizing the value of the work we do for everyone and we are looking forward to an exciting evening in celebration of their 125th anniversary.”

A memorabilia display will also play a pertinent part of the evening. Since January, the hotel has been collecting Princess memorabilia such as an activities guide, historic photographs, postcards, a cedar box, some of which date back to 1920.

Original items can still be loaned for the display and should be brought to the hotel’s Sales Office.

Submissions should include a name and contact details, as well as any fun stories or anecdotes about the origin of the piece. Following the exhibit, items will be returned.

For its own anniversary, the hotel will offer a special Anniversary Celebration Rate and all guests that attend the celebration event can take advantage of a $125 room rate on November 27.

Since 1885, the hotel has been a Bermuda landmark and with its rich history, from the Victorian era and the birth of tourism on the island through World War II and into today, is part of Bermuda’s cultural heritage.
