A 43-year-old man is in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital today after he allegedly broke into a house — but was beaten up by the son of a woman in it, reports ZBM radio.

Police say it happened in the Loyal Hill, Devonshire area around 10 this morning. He lay on the ground after being beaten up while EMTs tended to him and eventually took him to the hospital via ambulance.

The man is well-known to Police and faces arrest and is likely to be charged with burglary.
