A NEW Code of Practice has been adopted by this web site, in line with the creation of the Bermuda Media Council.

Up until now, Bermuda Wired has been loyal to the ethical practices set out by the U.S.-based Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).

Bermuda Wired spokesperson Tari Trott said: “We still belive the SPJ’s code is just as good as that of the new Media Council’s.

“However, a decision was made to adopt the ethical code of the Bermuda Media Council as it is closer to home in a sense.

“And, by utilizing the BMC code, it facilitates complaints against us in a way the former did not.”
