Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International is the hospitality industry’s source for knowledge, community, and recognition for leaders committed to professional development, sales growth, revenue optimization, marketing and branding.

The 54th annual Adrian Awards were handed out at a gala in front of more than 800 industry and agency professionals. The awards honor the fields of advertising, public relations and digital marketing.

Submissions must include a statement of communication, including information on marketing objectives, target audiences, research and planning, message, results and budget as well as supportive materials.

All entries are eligible to win Gold, Silver or Bronze. The Platinum winners are judged to be the most extraordinary entrants from the field of Gold level winners.

Winners are selected by senior industry and media experts. Ms. Meszoly was presented with the award at the gala by Fairmont’s Jeff Senior, executive vice president of marketing and sales.

In conjunction with Anson Stoner, a marketing agency used by Fairmont Bermuda, Ms. Meszoly created the Tea and Cakes project as a way to entice perspective meeting planners to hold their event at Fairmont Bermuda properties.

As a follow-up to meeting proposals prepared by Fairmont Bermuda, meeting planners are sent a wooden keepsake box containing the Conference Services Guide, a Bermuda Rum Cake, Fairmont Tea and a picture gallery of Bermuda and Fairmont Bermuda hotels.

“The Tea and Cakes strategy presents perspective clients with an unrivalled memento that is authentically local,” said Norman Mastalir, managing director, Fairmont Bermuda. “We’re delighted to have won this award and I would like to congratulate the sales and marketing team for winning such an esteemed industry accolade; the recognition is well deserved.”

“The gift is an extra special touch that we deliver following sales meetings to seal the relationship with potential clients and remind them that Fairmont Bermuda wants their business!” said Shelley Meszoly, regional director of sales and marketing for Fairmont Hotels Bermuda. “It has proven to be a successful tactic in making our proposals stand out to potential customers”.
