IN tonight’s first match the Knights will try to improve to 4-0 on the season, and put a damper on the Storm’s playoff hopes.
The Knights will be without GK Nigel Burgess tonight. They have the league’s second-leading goal scorer in the Lindo’s ISL in Ian Coke (7goals). The Storm will look to build off of their 8-3 victory over the Titans last time out. Dmitri Butterfield had a hat trick in that win, and Drewonde Bascome scored two goals in that one.
The Knights haven’t lost a regular season game since June 18th 2009 when they lost 9-5 to the Storm.
Thursday night’s second game matches the Apex vs. the Titans.
Both teams come in with a record of 1-2 on the season. The Titans lost to the Storm 8-3 on Sunday. Lonnie Bascome scored two goals for the Titans. The Apex lost a heart breaker to the Knights 8-6. The Knights led 5-1 before the Apex scored four goals in the span of three minutes in the third quarter to tie the game 5-5.
Shayne Hollis scored in the final seconds of the third quarter to give the knights the lead back. Jahron Dickinson had a hat trick in the loss. He is tied for third in the Lindo’s ISL in scoring with six goals.
Apex GK Daniel Johnson has made double digit saves in all three of the Apex’s games this year.
