The Fairmont Hamilton Princess today announces the appointment of Edison “Jecoa” Tucker to the hotel’s Leadership Development Program (LDP). Reporting to the Director of Rooms, Jecoa will be a Rooms Trainee.

In his first rotation with The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Jecoa is working in Fairmont Gold attending to the various needs of the guests in this luxury environment. He will then move to the Front Office and finally Housekeeping as part of the program.

“The development of future leaders at the hotel is a key focus,” said Kellianne Smith, director of human resources with The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. “We are so happy to welcome Jecoa as he embodies the enthusiasm, ambition and confidence to be a future senior hotel leader and he is a valuable addition to our team.”

The Fairmont Leadership Development Program is designed to put high-calibre university graduates on a training track to become executive-level managers within five years and hotel general managers within 10 years. Upon completion of his rotation at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Jecoa will carry out an additional training rotation in a hotel outside of Bermuda, and Jecoa has his sights set on Dubai.

“I have always loved to travel and working in hospitality allows you to do this,” said Jecoa. “I feel so fortunate to have been accepted into Fairmont’s Leadership Development Program. It is such a unique and in-depth program that will continue to provide me with valuable knowledge and experience to help me grow in my career while giving me the mobility I crave.”

Jecoa is a recent graduate of Johnson & Wales University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in hotel management and an Associate of Science in tourism. Prior to joining The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, he worked as a front office coordinator at Research.bm and as a front desk agent at Carnival Cruise Lines.  He has also worked at Tucker’s Point as a beach attendant and waiter during his summer vacations.

“The Leadership Development Program is so well-structured and the staff at Fairmont so supportive that I’m confident I will reach my ultimate goal of becoming a hotel general manager,” said Jecoa. “The people I’ve met both in the hotel, whom I think of as family, and from all over the world make this career choice even more fulfilling.”
