New iLearn Apple training programme at A.F. Smith

A.F. Smith, a leading provider of workplace products and services, is pleased to announce its new Apple training programme, iLearn. The Authorised Apple Reseller will kick off the series with a course on iOS 5, the latest operating platform for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch that boasts more than 200 new features.

The training programme is open to all Apple product users, regardless of where they originally purchased their products, and is held on-site at A.F. Smith in its state-of-the-art learning centre.

Tim Smith, CEO of A.F. Smith said, “We’ve had a great response since launching our Apple product ‘store-within-a-store’ last year. iLearn is the next logical step for us as it enables us to offer Apple product users a unique learning environment that will help maximize the return on their investment.”

Training will be conducted by A.F. Smith Apple Specialist, Jennie Whiting, who is a certified Apple Product Professional as well as an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician with more than 15 years of experience in the computer industry.

The iOS 5 session will explore new apps and new ways to use them, as well as many of the additional features that iOS 5 offers. The course will look at some of the streamlined processes such as the Notification Center, Newsstand and Twitter integration. In addition, participants will learn new moves and shortcuts to get around quicker and multi-task even better. The course will also delve into the upgraded camera capabilities of iOS 5 and the new photo enhancement tools that can turn snapshots into frame-worthy art without leaving the Photos app.

In August, a course on OS X Lion operating platform for Macs will be available. Other future course topics include iWork document creator, iCloud, iPad for business and application overview. In addition to Apple training, A.F. Smith offers product and solution training under its professional services umbrella as a way to help business customers use Apple technology to become more profitable.

“As we all know, technology moves so quickly,” said Smith. “We owe it to our customers not only to supply the latest equipment available, but also the resources and ongoing support to help them make use of the full functionality of the products. Apple is known for enhancing the user experience when it comes to technology and as an authorised reseller, it is our job to uphold that mission.”
