In the spirit of the holidays, the Hamilton Princess today announces a pastry making class and the return of Teddy Bear Tea, the popular afternoon tea with a menu full of delicious treats designed especially for children. Teddy Bear Tea will be held on Sundays at Crown & Anchor between 3:00pm and 5:00pm from December 6 through December 20. The pastry class will be held at Crown & Anchor on December 20 between 2:00pm and 5:30pm.

Santa Claus will attend every Teddy Bear Tea to hear what your kids would like to find under the tree on Christmas Day. Children are encouraged to bring a brand new teddy bear or other new stuffed toy to be donated to the Salvation Army.

Teddy Bear Tea is designed especially for children and is set against a magical backdrop of holiday decorations. The child-friendly menu features Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam on banana-bread, Creamy Chicken on Whole-Wheat Bread, Carrot Raisin on Whole Wheat Bread, Baby Raisin Scone with Nutella & Custard, Profiterole Milk Chocolate, Strawberries with Liquid Chocolate, Mango Passion Lolly Pops, ‘Smiling Face’ Smarties Cookies, Sweet Popcorn, orange juice and tea.

The pastry-making class is designed for adults interested in baking. Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Pannier, who oversees all the desserts at 1609 Bar & Restaurant, Crown & Anchor and catering throughout the hotel, will demonstrate in a hands-on lesson how to create mouth-watering pastries and desserts. The class is a unique opportunity to learn from a French chef certified in pastry, baking, chocolate and ice cream production. A light dinner will follow featuring desserts that were created in class.

“The holidays are always a special time at the hotel,” said Allan Federer, general manager, Hamilton Princess. “Our Teddy Bear Tea is a popular event for families and we are thrilled to offer it again this year.

“Chef Pannier’s pastry class is not to be missed for people who like to bake or for those with a sweet tooth. We look forward to welcoming you to the hotel for the holidays and wish everyone a happy holiday season.”

The cost for the Teddy Bear Tea is $20 plus gratuities for children who donate a new teddy bear or $29 plus gratuities for children without teddy bears to donate. Adults accompanying children may order Afternoon Tea, which is $48 per person plus 17 per cent gratuities or $64 per person plus 17 per cent gratuities, which includes one glass of Champagne. The pastry class is $58 plus gratuities.

Reservations for either event can be made by calling 441-298-2028 or emailing ham.diningreservations@fairmont.com. There is limited space available for the pastry class, so reservations are highly recommended.
