Argus Insurance would like to advise its clients that the office will open today, Saturday, September 24, from 11am until 5pm, to assist with claim support following Tropical Storm Karl.  Claim adjusters are on standby and stationed at various locations throughout the Island in addition a team of underwriters are at the Argus office in Hamilton to service claims throughout the weekend.  We encourage clients to call the Argus Claims Hurricane Hotline at 298-0888 for queries or filing a report relating to any damage caused by the storm.

Once you have filed your damage report, either by telephone or in person, Argus will send adjustors at its earliest opportunity. Argus recommends that clients take photos of damaged property to create an inventory for claims.

Alison Hill, CEO of the Argus Group, says: “We hope everyone is safe following the passage of Tropical Storm Karl. We opened as soon as it was safe to do so this morning and are working diligently to ensure that our clients who experienced damage to their property during the hurricane have the help they need to file and process their insurance claims.”

In the aftermath of the storm, Argus urges residents to check on family and elderly neighbours. As the Island focuses on cleaning up and returning to normal, Argus reminds residents to obtain estimates for repair work and not to be rushed into signing a contract. Likewise, never pay for the entire repair upfront. Instead, wait until the repairs are complete.
