BAS GROUP REPORTS SIX-MONTH EARNINGS OF $689k

Bermuda Aviation Services Limited (the “Group” or “BAS”) today announces net earnings attributable to shareholders of $689,000 for the six months ended September 30, 2016, excluding the impact of discontinued operations of BAS-Serco’s airport contract and the sale of IBC. This is down from $117,000 for the corresponding period in 2015. Earnings per share were $0.20 compared with $0.24 per share for the same period in 2015. The Institute of Bermuda Architects (IBA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Seniors, Ageing and Disability Services today hosted an accessibility tour of Hamilton. Marsh and Guy Carpenter Donate to Bermuda Red Cross

Marsh and Guy Carpenter today announce a donation to the Bermuda Red Cross for the purchase of a new electrical hoist. Electric hoists are used to move immobile or near immobile individuals, most commonly out of bed and into a wheel chair. The electric hoists are primarily used by elderly people who have had strokes or have virtually no muscle strength. Berkeley Institute’s Oracle and Vikings team beat out 19 other teams from 7 high schools to win first and second place in the Cardboard Boat Challenge held this afternoon at the Bermuda National Sports Centre Aquatics Centre. Teams of two to five students had two hours to build a boat, which could float two people, out of only the supplied materials, including cardboard boxes donated by the Bermuda Bread Company, duct tape and a box cutter.
