PREMIER Dr. Ewart Brown has arrived in Dominica for the Inter-Sessional meeting of the Heads of Government of the CARICOM nations.
This evening, the leaders were in a specially-called meeting before the formal opening of the talks. On the agenda are financial services issues, Haiti, the region’s severe drought this season and other economic issues.
Premier Brown said: “Leaders are focused on these major issues and I expect to share Bermuda’s perspective on them. Our water collection methods may be something that Bermuda can share as a model for success.”
The meeting will formally open tomorrow [March 11, 2010] with an agenda focused on significant issues for the region, including air service development, tourism, continuing aid to Haiti and the effect of the global economic downturn on CARICOM member states.
The Premier is accompanied by the Secretary to the Cabinet.
