FIVE THOUSAND family cases awaiting in Magistrates' Court

NEARLY 5,000 family court cases are currently clogging the logs of the Magistrates' Courts.
Visiting British Judge Christopher Barnett Q.C. gave the estimate at at special seminar for workers in the field of Justice, today.
At the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Mr. Barnett also recommended the creation of a unified family court placing an emphasis on resolving family disputes, as its priority.
In a stunning set of statistics, the judge estimated that half of the Island's children will be affected by a court family dispute.
