Police advisory: Don't be alarmed by Regiment, smoke, fire
Published by Admin on September 26th, 2009
BERMUDA -- Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 -- [BermudaWired.com]: This weekend a joint exercise known as ‘Island Sentinel’ involving the Bermuda Police Service, the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and the Bermuda Regiment will take place.
It is expected to start this evening and end Sunday morning.
The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service will be conducting live burning in the western parishes as part of the exercise.
Therefore the public is advised not to panic if they see black smoke coming from that area of the island.
The public should also be aware that there is an increased likelihood of additional Police/Fire/Regiment activity on the roads throughout various parts of the island over the weekend.
The patience & co-operation of the motoring public during this training period for the essential services is greatly appreciated.
