New shuttle service between Hamilton car parks

Published by Admin on September 27th, 2009
Hamilton, Bermuda – September 27, 2009 – The Corporation of Hamilton today announced the start of a free, new shuttle bus service that will run between City Hall Car Park and Bulls Head Car Park.

The service starts on Monday, September 28, and will leave every 15 minutes from the west side of City Hall and take people directly to their car in Bulls Head.

In announcing the new service, Mayor of Hamilton, Charles Gosling said, “We are introducing this complimentary, new shuttle bus service, as a result of our continuing efforts to improve safety at Bulls Head.

"We know a number of people, particularly women, have expressed concern and are nervous about going to their vehicle in the evening, especially as it is starting to get dark earlier.

“The mini bus will take anyone who wishes to use the service from City Hall directly to their car between 4:30pm and 7pm. We urge people who may be working late to use the service to move their car from Bulls Head after 6pm and park on the streets. This will allow them to park closer to their office when parking is free.”

Mayor Gosling added, “The service, will run between now and then start of Day Light Saving time next March.

Additionally, if anyone needs assistance with getting to their car in Bulls Head after 7pm, they are urged to call Safeguard Security (292 2626) and a security guard will meet them at the entrance to Bulls Head Car Park and accompany them to their car.”

“I would like to thank Midlands Mini Bus Service and Safeguard Security who are our partners in this important safety initiative,” Mayor Gosling concluded.
