Wet paint blamed on massive Hamilton traffic jam

BERMUDA – Sept. 30, 2009 – [Bermuda Wired]: WET paint was the cause of a massive traffic jam in Hamilton, caused by the closure of Queen Street between Front and Reid Streets.
The Corporation of Hamilton is apologizing to commuters for the dilemma.
Apparently, Work crews were out at 5 a.m. to repaint the road markings on this stretch of Queen Street.
However due to a combination of factors, the paint didn’t dry as quickly as it should have, which delayed the 7.30 a.m. reopening of the street.
This resulted in Queen Street reopening to traffic at 9am.
