BERMUDA — Sept. 30, 2009 — [Bermuda Wired]: NEED expert advice on how to manage your money during this global recession? AFL Investments will hold two free seminars during its Financial Planning Week starting next Monday.
Financial Planning Week is designed to help individuals discover the value of financial planning and make important decisions about life goals and how to achieve them, according to the company.
Bridging the gap between a current financial state of affairs and a future wealthy position will top the information provided during the tutorials, which will take place at the Argus Building on 14 Wesley Street, Hamilton.
Here’s the schedule: ∙Tuesday, October 6, 12-1p.m. ∙Thursday, October 8, 12-1p.m.
Those interested in attending may contact Theresa Santos at AFL Investments on 294-5715 or by E-mail:
Refreshments will be provided at all seminars.
In addition to these general financial planning seminars, the company is running two age-specific seminars, to complete a special series it launched in association with the Chamber of Commerce earlier this year.
Each of these seminars is targeted at a specific age group and their unique investment needs. They will be held at the AFL Investments office in the Maxwell Roberts Building, 1 Church Street, Hamilton, as follows:
∙Thursday, October 8, 5.30-7pm: “Lordy, Lordy, Now You’re Forty: Maximizing Your Investment Strategies”
∙Thursday, October 22, 5.30-7pm: “Fabulous Fifties: The Home Stretch”
Cindy Campbell, chief operating officer, AFL Investments, said: “Financial planning is something that people often know they should be doing but don’t always set aside the time to actually do it.
“Financial Planning Week helps to raise awareness of the importance of planning your finances. After the market turbulence of 2008, many people have experienced significant shortfalls and therefore, need to re-evaluate their financial goals. Financial planning has never been more important.”
Carla Seely, Senior Wealth Manager at AFL Investments, said: “In my experience most people have an idea of their goals, both personal and financial, that they would like to achieve but are less certain about exactly how they will get there.
“They often think perhaps there is a better way to manage what they already have. At AFL Investments we have created these seminars to educate people on the importance of creating a financial plan and the steps they should take to ensure it’s successful.”
