BERMUDA’s movers and shakers have come out to honor the late David Aleen, the first PLP Tourism Minister, with the unveiling of a commemorative plague. Politicians, including outgoing Premier Ewart Brown and well-wishers turned out at King’s Square, St. George’s on Friday, to do the honors. Mr. Allen was a powerful force for workers during his many years the House of Assembly, both in Opposition and later as a Cabinet Minister. CLAIMS of sabotage by supporters of Terry Lister against the Paula Cox camp have muddied the campaigns for the next Premier. ZBM TV9 News ran a broadcast tonight highlighting claims from the Lister camp about alleged dirty tricks being played by the other side — Ms cox has vigorously denied this. Its purpose, according to Culture Minister Neleetha Butterfield, is to review nominations for National Hero. The first was the late Dame Lois Browne-Evans. On the Committee is former Premiers Dame Jennifer Smith (Chairperson) and Alex Scott, as well as Senator Thaao Dill, PLP MP Ashfield Devent and Independent MP Darius Tucker.
