CableVision expresses concern for customers over Bermuda Broadcasting Company request

The Bermuda Broadcasting Company has demanded that CableVision pay to include local channels 7 and 9 on its cable system. In response, and out of concern for its customers, CableVision has told the Bermuda Broadcasting Company that, if this is the case, CableVision no longer wants to include its channels. It is now up to the Telecommunications Commission to decide when the two channels should be removed from CableVision’s cable system. This is expected to take place on or around November 1, 2011. Holding company KeyTech renames Cayman operation as ‘Logic’

BERMUDA’S KeyTech Limited has expanded its telecoms operations in the Cayman Islands under the name Logic, the same name as Logic Communications in Bermuda (the ISP). The Cayman company was originally named WesTtel but changed its name as Key Tech increased the amount of shares it owned from 67 percent to 100 last month. KeyTech already owns Logic Communications (Bermuda), BTC, M3 Wireless, Bermuda Yellow Pages and a portion of Bermuda CableVision — making the company a power-house. STAFF at Bermuda CableVision are being thanked for their hard work in restoring the company’s main line plant following hurricane Igor. Power provider BELCO has been working with CableVision during the past three days to make this happen.
