IGOR takes out Hamilton traffic lights

LONG-gone hurricane Igor has left the City of Hamilton without operational traffic lights at the moment. A Corporation spokesperson saying tonight: “Members of the motoring public are urged to use extreme caution while driving in Hamilton over the next few days. “Motorists are asked to stop at each light and move forward once it is safe to do so. Fairmont’s unique job swap program a success

MEMBERS of the executive team at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess have hung up their jackets to cook, serve and press laundry in order to understand first-hand the challenges faced by front-line staff at the hotel. The job swap is part of a comprehensive program the hotel is undertaking to cross-train employees. Jon Crellin, the hotel’s general manager, will work as a chef while Allan Trew will set aside his job as hotel manager to vacuum and clean guestrooms as a houseman.
