UNIONIZED bus drivers are accused by the Premier of showing little compassion to fellow islanders by their decision to walk off the job today. Early this morning, fresh after resuming service following the impact of Hurricane Igor, operators decided that the roads were not safe enough to drive on. And their counterparts in the Ferry Service have appearently joined them in stopping work, ZBM television reported this evening. HURRICANE IGOR’S closest point of approach to Bermuda has been updated to early Monday morning. At that time the storm is expected to be located just 10 nautical miles to the east of the island, says the Bermuda Weather Service.
