BERMUDA’s movers and shakers have come out to honor the late David Aleen, the first PLP Tourism Minister, with the unveiling of a commemorative plague. Politicians, including outgoing Premier Ewart Brown and well-wishers turned out at King’s Square, St. George’s on Friday, to do the honors. WOMEN’S issues are very important in Bermuda — that’s why Government has appointed the first-ever 15-member Women’s Council. Culture Minister Neleetha Butterfield announced the scheme Monday. Mirrors Programme making inroads with new graduates

THIRTY-SEVEN young men have completed the third phase of Government’s successful Mirrors Programme. Started in 2007 as a vision of Premier Ewart Brown, the inititative is aimed at molding young men into future role models. Social Rehabilitation Minister Neleetha Butterfield said the men range from ages 15 to 18. Saturday’s completion ceremony also celebrated the completion of the nine-month Follow Through Series, held at the Berkley Institutes.
