Female duo jailed for ‘merciless’ beating over cell phone

TWO young women, one heavily pregnant, have begun two-year prison sentences for viciously attacking an innocent schoolgirl. Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons called the armed attack against Brittany Symonds, 17, “vindictive and merciless” before handing down the sentence plus two years probation upon release, according to ZBM. In August, a jury unanimously convicted Garrina Cann, 21, and Trimiea Roland, 22, of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Cann is from Pembroke, Roland from St. David’s. Man in serious condition after St. David’s crash

A 22-year-old St. George’s man is today in serious but stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit following an accident last night. At around 10.30 p.m., the man was travelling along Southside Road in St. David’s when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a sidewalk and then a tree. Prosecutor accuses trucker of lying about cannabis shipment

JERMAINE OUTERBRIDGE, the trucker accused of importing drugs into Bermuda, received a grilling in court today about his explanation over a delivery containing cannabis. ZBM reports that Outerbridge, 38, from Fisherman’s Hill Hamilton Parish, denies the charge of conspiring with Lionel Thomas Jr. and others to import a controlled drug in November 2008. Cannabis shipment destined for fake St. David’s address — court hears

AN alleged drugs importer has been put on trial for the concealed shipment of two pounds of cannabis worth $92,000. His name, according to a Bermuda Broadcasting Company report, is Jermaine Juan Outerbridge, 38, of Fisherman’s Hill, Hamilton Parish. According to tonight’s broadcast, Prosecutor Rory Field told the jury that he conspired with a man named Lionel Thomas Jr. and others not before the court to import the substance in November 2008.
