CableVision expresses concern for customers over Bermuda Broadcasting Company request
The Bermuda Broadcasting Company has demanded that CableVision pay to include local channels 7 and 9 on its cable system. In response, and out of concern for its customers, CableVision has told the Bermuda Broadcasting Company that, if this is the case, CableVision no longer wants to include its channels. It is now up to the Telecommunications Commission to decide when the two channels should be removed from CableVision’s cable system. This is expected to take place on or around November 1, 2011. A JURY today acquitted Leo Burgess, 17, on the charge of aggravated burglary of the Southampton home of Greg Wilson and on the charge of unlawful firearm possession by a minor. ZBM News reports tonight that out of the 12 jurors, nine voted to acquit while three dissented. Burgess, of Cambridge Road, walked from court a free man following the decision. He was in the company of family and friends, some of whom had been crying hysterically in court during the verdicts. ZBM News has reported that a serious traffic accident took place tonight shortly before 10, at the junction of Cobbs Hill and Harbour Road, east of Darrell’s Wharf. Apparently, a car was traveling west and a male motorcycle rider heading the opposite direction, when both crash into each other. ZBM states the rider was rushed to King Edward Memorial Hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. His condition was unknown at last check.
